Skip Hire Made Easy
The above are the sizes and prices of our skip hire. The most common skip hire is the 8 yard skip which is what we call a builders skip, about the size of a car and good for heavy waste i.e. soil and rubble etc. We also do 12 Yard skip hire mainly used for light waste and ideal for a house clearance or office clearance. Please call if you need more guidance on skip hire sizes.
Be sure to hire the right size of skip, as hiring 2 small skips works out more expensive than hiring 1 large skip. If you really have a lot of light waste then it may work out cheaper to use our Waste Collection Service which holds 18 yards of waste and we supply labour.
Where do you want your skip placed?
Please be aware that hired skips cannot be placed on public roads without a permit, lights and being covered. This all adds to the expense so you might prefer for us to deliver the skip and wait for you to load it then take it away. This is called “Wait & Load”.
If you must have your skip put on a public road there are some additional costs:
- £10 administration fee if you want us to arrange the permit
- Your local highways charge us for the permit (usually between £30 & £130) Depending on which council you come under.
Arranging the permit can take up to 10 working days so please ensure you book in advance.
All skip hired to be placed on the road need to have a light positioned on each corner and be surrounded by traffic cones.
Most people have the skip placed on the driveway. Please be aware though that due to the stabilising equipment on the skip lorries, although rare, damage to driveways can sometimes occur.
What can and can’t you put in the skip?
All skips hired for general & waste only must only be level loaded to ensure they can be safely transported.
Due to Waste Regulations, you cannot put the following items in the skips:-
Plasterboard must now be kept separate and dry. We can supply our Waste Clearance vehicle to collect Plasterboard as a one off collection to keep costs down.
Waste we don’t take:
Asbestos, car batteries, clinical waste, liquids, “smelly” waste, large tree roots/logs, hazardous/corrosive substances, oily wastes, batteries or any other waste classed as hazardous.
What waste we can take for an extra charge:
Tyres, fridge-freezers, gas cylinders, televisions, monitors, fluorescent tubes, white goods.
Please call for queries on skip hire prices or waste collection.
We can arrange on road skip permits if required. If the skip can not be left on site at all, we can arrange a Wait & Load service.
We can provide lidded and lockable skips for undesirable areas, shopping centres or anywhere the situation arises.
We can arrange skips for members of the public, who can conveniently pay by credit card through our office alleviating the need to pay cash on delivery.
We supply 18 yard Roll on roll off bins for commercial use. These are great for hotels, colleges, retail parks, car parks and industrial estates to name a few uses!
