The above are the sizes and prices of our skips. The 8 yard skip is the most common which is what we call a builders skip about the size of a car and good for heavy materials i.e. muck and rubble etc. We also do a 12 Yard skips mainly used for light waste and ideal for a house clearance or office clearance. If you need more guidance on sizes, please just call.
Be sure to order the right size of skip, as hiring 2 small skips works out more expensive than 1 large one. If you really have a lot of light rubbish then it may work out cheaper to use our Rubbish Clearance Service which holds 18 yards of waste and we supply labour to load.
Where do you want your skip put?
Please be aware that skips cannot be put on public roads without a permit, lights and being covered. This all adds to the expense so you might prefer for us to deliver the skip and wait for you to load it then take it away. This is called “Wait & Load”.
If you must have your skip put on a public road there are some additional costs:
- £10 administration fee if you want us to arrange the permit
- Your local highways charge us for the permit (usually between £30 & £130) Depending on which council you come under.
Arranging the permit can take up to 10 working days so please ensure you book in advance.
All skips on the roads need to have a light positioned on each corner and be surrounded by traffic cones.
Most people have the skip put on the driveway. Please be aware though that due to the stabilising equipment on the skip Lorries, although rare, damage to driveways can sometimes occur.
What you can and can’t put in your skip?
All skips are for general & inert waste only and must only be level loaded to ensure they can be safely transported.
Due to Waste Regulations, you cannot put the following items in them:-
Plasterboard must now be kept separate and dry. We can supply our Rubbish Clearance vehicle to collect Plasterboard as a one off collection to keep costs down.
What we don’t take:
Asbestos, car batteries, clinical waste, liquids, “smelly” waste, large tree roots/logs, hazardous/corrosive substances, oily wastes, batteries or any other wastes classed as hazardous.
What we can take for an extra charge:
Tyres, fridge-freezers, gas cylinders, televisions, monitors, fluorescent tubes, white goods.
For any quires on price please call our friendly and helpful sales team.
