Increasing the amount we recycle
Many of us don’t even think before we throw items into the bin and before we know it the bin sack is full and we end up having a bulging household waste bin that will remain that way until the waste management company come and collect it on a fortnightly basis in some instances.
However, if we all put a little bit of thought into what we throw away every day, we could significantly reduce the amount of waste that is sent to landfill sites up and down the country.
Landfills have been growing in size for decades and it is time that we started being more considerate and thinking about how we can reduce our waste production.
Recycling is a fantastic way to reduce the amount of rubbish your household throws away. Many household items can be recycled such as plastics, card, paper, tins and glass. Your local authority will be able to provide you with information about which can or cannot be recycled in your area and they may also have a designated recycling bin that they can provide for you.
All of these measures can assist in reducing the amount of waste we produce as a country and if everybody recycled, it would decrease significantly.
